  1. Dear Borden & Thielicke Family,

I am so saddened to hear of the passing of your beloved Sandy, my dear friend. The strength of her faith and positive energy in the world is what I will remember most and miss about her. I cherished the time we spent together..

She entered my life about 10 years ago as Kate's personal driver and we saw each other daily as our girls skated in Escondido. With seemingly endless hours of waiting, watching & freezing we forged a very strong bond. We formed a team and walked in the 1st Breast Cancer 3-day, She was so proud to be both a "survivor" and finisher, having never embarked on such an athletic endeavor. Her family was there to support her all the way. She was a trooper. Nothing would stand in her way. She lived her life with passion.. she was an all in kind of gal. We used to practice together saying the word “NO”.. But I can’t remember every hearing it come from her lips. I recall visiting her in Del Mar and the entire house was filled with lavender!! It was the season and that's just how it is!

We had alot of fun as we developed a concept and transformed the Cardiff house to be her sanctuary. She was mad for the color turquoise. It made her feel calm. In her head she was always going a million miles an hour. She explained how she had always wanted to live by the beach and look out each day to the vastness of the horizon. One morning as we were selecting cabinet hardware in her new bathroom, the sun came in thru an east facing window and a crystal she had hanging cast an incredible prism like rainbow on the wall.. she became serious, and shared that when she is no longer here, she will be found in that beautiful rainbow wherever we see it.

Although I am feeling so sad for all of us.. faith tells me that she is in a better place.. she is free from suffering. I will miss my dear friend, your sister, your daughter, your wife and her most cherished role on this earth, Kates' Mom.

With my deepest sympathy and most sincere love to you all,
    Becky

  2. Sandy was a remarkable person. She had endured so much in her life and yet always had a positive attitude. Her wish to see Kate graduate from college was honored; she loved and was so very proud of her family.

I will miss you greatly, my friend. You were one of my biggest advocates! Thank you for being in my life. I will look for you in every rainbow, every butterfly, every flower.

My deepest sympathy and love to all the family.

  4. Dear Borden and Thielicke family,

We sincere condolences to all of you. Sandy was a real beacon of light, always upbeat and uplifting. I met her way back in 1984 when Scott hired me as his employee. She was always a very sweet woman and very supportive.

My fondest memory, and coincidentally the most recent, was a December 2008 holiday night when Scott and I met at her home overlooking the ocean. We all laughed continuouly as Sandy introduced, at least me, to Wie on the tele. What a hoot...From golf to snowboarding and more. I could tell she really enjoyed the new technological advance.

In closing, I'm a better man for knowing Sandy and I look forward to being with you all very soon to celebrate her life...A rich one at that...Michael Siddall
